Anyone have Experience with 2001 Rock Shox Jett Recall?
I know this is an old one but I just picked up a used Trek 4500 circa 2001. I picked it up for a great price. It has a Rock Shox Jett fork. I did some checking on the internet and found that this shock is under a recall notice. SRAM is still honoring the recall (so I'm told). Has anyone had any experience with this recall? Since I do a lot of my own repairs and have replaced several shocks, I'm thinking I would like to handle this directly with SRAM. Has anyone else tried this? Or is this a recall where you HAVE TO go through an LBS? Would you recommend handling on my own or am I better off having an LBS handle it.
The fork is being recalled due to compression rods breaking.
