New front derailleur

Im looking to get a new front derailleur for my tassajara, and when I look at them on pricepoint, there are different sizes like 1 1/8, 1 1/4, and 1 3/8. What is the meaning behind these different sizes? I think its the width of the tube where the derailleur attaches but I want to be sure.

Yes, it is the tube diameter of the seat tube.
