Rock Shox Question (Bridge)

My front fork has a crack in the bridge on my Rock Shox (2000 Schwinn Moab) can I replace it or do I need a new front fork? If so recommendations? I mostly use this as a commuter but do plan on hitting some light trails. Ideally I would like to repair but I understand that it may not be possible.

Thanks,

John

I agree, but my bike mechanic said the piece is removable and therefore replaceable, correct?

it is removable but replaceable maybe not , have your mechanic check with roadshox for one . or maybe his shop has a bad fork sitting around than the bridge can remove and be use on your.

Try Ebaying for a old shock..very hard just to find the bridge... 2000 I think was the last year that the mounting bridge was used..I have a '98 Rock Shox with the same bridge..I found some cheap used Shox modle that don't incoorperate the bridge on Ebay..maybe concider that.
