Changed Seat Post Clamp...but post moves sideways...

Can someone assist. I changed the seat post clamp (as my old clamp was "threaded") and although I can adjust the seat up and down and it holds fine, the seat moves around.... did not expect this problem.

In order to install the new clamp, I had to remove the post. It was "stuck" but after a couple of tamps with a small hammer, I was able to pull it out.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks. Alan

Sounds like you've wrecked the post with the hammering. Many seatposts have press-fit/bonded tops that don't take well to that sort of thing.
Remember to take your old one to the shop so they can get you a replacement in the proper size.

Issue was incorrect size clamp...

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I went to a LBS and it turned out the replacement seat post clamp I got online was 30mm and should have been 31.6mm....it is obvious I am a novice at trying to repair my own bike, lol...I am back in the saddle and gonna ride 50 miles today...weather permitting.

Thank you again, I appreciate you responding.
