Changing Alfine Crank

Hello, I bought a Civia Hyland, and it came with 170mm Alfine cranks. I want to change them out for something in 175mm (they only come in 170). I'm eyeing the Truvativ Rouleur crankset. The chainline is slightly different - Alfine 42.7mm, Truvative 44.5. Does this really matter much?

Is there another crank I'm not aware of that's black that would be a worthy Alfine replacement?

Changing Alfine Crank -> Phil and black Sugino

Greetings Civiaguy,

A fine idea worthy of your Civia: Phil bottom bracket, and black Sugino messenger crankarms. The Phil bb will allow you to fine tune your chainline. Your favorite local shop should be able to get the crank arms from QBP.

I was in such a hurry to try to get something, I ended up scoring a FSA carbon crank on eBay for $150. The chainline is 43.5, which is less than a mm off from the Alfine crank. I ought to work out OK, and look pretty dang cool to boot. Thanks for the tip on the Phil Wood BB.
