Shimano IG or HG?

If I remember correctly HG is for hyperglide, What is IG?
Is it more narrow than HG, does it use an IG rather than an HG chain?

Interactive Glide. Shimano IG cassettes supposedly are designed to work with IG chains only. Sram claims their chains work with either. IG chains are 7.1mm wide. 8 speed HG chains are 7.4mm wide. 7 speed IG/HG used the same c-c cog spacing, but IG cogs were thicker and the spacers narrower.

Thanks for the reply.
I thought the difference had to do to do with the width of the chain or the cogs I just couldn't remeber witch.

IG cogs are also ramped differently to assist shifting in both directions.
