hydro brakes
im looking at getting some new hydro brakes and im wondering if there ready out of the box or do i have to put the together and bleed them.

It depends on the ones you get. For example, shimano sells theirs without brake levers, which would make it hard to have pre-bled.

Hayes are sold 'ready to install', but unless your bike fits their hose lengths
fairly closely you may have to adjust the length, which means refilling and
bleeding the system. Variations on the same theme for other hydraulic
disks.

do you think mech to hydro is a down grade.........they do work good...ive never had problems with them
