Fox Float and C'dale Lefty fork oil
I've searched the web and couldn't find an answer, so I'm approaching you fine folks.
I like to do as much bike maintenance as I can myself and I'd like to replace the oil in my mountain bike shocks. Why? Because I've owned the bike for a year and figure that it would probably be wise to change the oil (if it's not, then please let me know) I have Cannondale Lefty Speed DLR and Fox Float R shocks on the bike (2006 models). I looked at owners manuals for both and found nothing, and searched the web for the Lefty and found nothing. So I'm assuming this procedure is either so rediculously easy that it requires no instruction (like putting air in your tires) or is so feindishly difficult it can't be done without NASA training.
So, anyone know how to change the oil in a Lefty or Fox Float shock?

Can't help you with the Float but my Lefty Max has a fork oil change procedure in the owners manual supplement that came with my bike. Find your fork in the drop down list on this page and if there is a process for changing it you should find it here.

Yup, that's what I found. There's a process for just about everything BUT changing the oil. There is a mention of oil change as part of the service interval, but is listed as "professional service" which may be why it isn't explained in the suppliment. What's the big secret? Seems like changing the oil should be relatively easy to do.

Changing the oil itself isn't that difficult, but getting the pressure right is a little more difficult.
