I have a carcon fiber/ titanium lugged merlin lunaris. when i pedal hard, on the right foot, a creak occurs, it is with pedaling only, right side, only when pedaling hard. when off the saddle it stops. seems to be coming from the rear. could this be a problem with the tubes?/ tightening and lubing the seat post does not help. any ideas

My seat does that, it has springs so it think it is those, nothing I would worry about. I'm going to lube mine today and see if that fixes it.

If the noise is coming from the right side of your bike when you pedal I would suspect crank arm, chainrings, or bottom bracket. If you're mechanically inclined I would pull the crank off, check that the chainring bolts are secure by looseing them slightly and retightening, check that both bottom bracket cups are secure by applying grease to the threads and doing the same thing, and reinstalling the crankset and tightening the left crankarm to the manufacturers recommended torque. After that remove your pedals, apply a little grease to the threads, and tighten them down to torque spec. That will cure a lot of drivechain noise in a bike.

Park Tool has a troubleshooting guide for noisy drivetrains that you might want to check out as well.

Have you tried a little grease on the saddle rail/seatpost clamp interface?

I too agree with lightly greasing saddle clamp on seat post.

BTW, I changed your thread title to better reflect your problem, and merged the three threads together. If you make a mistake on a thread, use the report this post to a moderator link at the bottom of the post and we can fix these things. Or PM any member with a blue star, we are the moderators.
