Bottom Bracket Question

Hey everyone, so I have a bit of a newbie question.

I'm working on an old fuji road bike with my girlfriend, converting it to single speed. It looks like I'm going to have to replace the bottom bracket, so I pulled it apart today, and before I order a new one I just want to make sure that I'm understanding all of this right...

It said 1.37 x 24T on it, which I've read and think I understand is pretty much the standard size for bottom brackets. So if I were to get a 68 x 107 shimano square taper bottom bracket, it would be totally compatible correct? Thats obviously assuming that its the right size for whatever crankset I end up getting. Am I making any sense? Am I totally dense for not understanding this? I've read as much as I can about it, and think I understand it, but I just wanted to double check before going ahead and buying one.

Thanks a ton!!

Yes. 1.37 x 24T is the "English Standard" threading. 68mm is the width of the BB shell. 107mm is the length of the spindle (axle). Check out parktool.com for good info on removing/installing BB pieces. Get a backrub out of the deal. Have fun.
