another saddle question

Hi, the thin leather that's covering my saddle is probably badly glued; it is coming loose on the right under side and the leather is now not as tight as I think it should be. It may well be caused because I don't use a spandex trouser but my old jeans... Anyway, can someone recomment a glue to fix it?

Barring some super secret bike glue out there, I'd first off make sure that the foam it's probably glued to isn't compeletly decayed, and then assuming it's OK use contact cement, that's what we always used back when I was working at a leather shop. Only problem I'd think would be heat exposure.

hi tromper, Thanx. There's no foam just the plastic (?) seat frame . I need to bend the little peace of leather upholstery underneath the seat and glue it to the side. But yeah, I'd try contact cement; it should not dissolve the material. Any brand name?

Two glues I've had excellent results with:

Amazing Goop, available at Lowe's, Home Depot, etc. I repair saddles, rack trunks, and even shoes with this stuff. Excess wipes off easily in the first few minutes, sets strong enough to hold heels onto dress shoes, so it'll hold your saddle cover.

Automotive Upholstery Cement, (various brands) available at Pep Boys, Auto Zone, etc. This is the stuff they use to hang headliners and door panels. It's extremely pungent, but holds very well. I had some left over from a car project... Fixed a Trek saddle with it... Like yours, the cover was coming off from underneath. It's still working, fourteen years later...

Thanx!
