Long pivot nut for Shimano Ultegra front caliper (carbon fork)?

Hi,

Just putting a Shimano Ultegra front brake caliper on a Kinesis 'Energy' carbon fork, and found that the fork is so thick that the longest recessed nut I can find, an 18mm, will only just about thread onto the pivot bolt threads by about 4mm at the most. On the previous fork it threaded on about 12mm and felt very secure. Do I need to find (or make) a longer nut or does the design not really require the nut to be wound down the bolt quite so far?

I noticed that Shimano lists a 27mm long nut which sounds ideal but cant find one in the usual UK based online shops, they all list 10mm, 12.5mm and 18mm.

Anyone been here before and found the same problem?

Thanks in advance,

Chris
