Campy Chorus Triple.. Symmetric or Asymmetric, what is the difference?
I have an older Merckx with a mix of campy 10 components.. I already have a 111mm Symmetric BB running a Centaur compact crankset.. I want to get a Chorus Triple Crankset but I keep seeing that the Campy Chorus Triple specs a 111mm Asymmetric BB, what is the difference?
Can I get the Campy triple to work with my current setup.. I have a medium cage RD and Triple FD already.. The shifters are older Record 10, about 4 years old...

I believe the Chorus asymetric bb is longer on the drive-side and using your older bb may put the chainrings too close to the frame.
Even if the rings clear the stays, they may be so close that the front derailleur can't move in far enough to shift to the granny ring before it hits the seat tube.
