Shimano Front derailleur & Sram crankset compatibility
Can I use an Ultegra or a 105 Front Derailleur with a Sram Rival OCT compact double road crankset? I'll be using a 2x10 with a 12-27 Shimano rear cassette & Shimano 10 speed chain.

The SRAM crankset with Shimano FD won't be a problem. Even if the spacing isn't exactly the same between the chainrings on a SRAM vs. Shimano crank, it can't be that different to cause any major issues. SRAM claims they use a proprietary cable pull ratio on their front deraillers so it sounds like you'll need to use Shimano shifters with your your Shimano FD though.
