SRAM 8-speed for old road bike

Anybody have experience with SRAM 8-speed cassettes? I'm converting an old Trek to a training bike, and came across a barely used SRAM w/chain and RD.

Sram makes pretty good cassettes. They do some shaping of the teeth for better shifting like Shimano.
