"BMX" brake cable on a road bikes?

i'm looking for new white brake cable for my road bike and i was wondering if i was going to run into any issues if i tried to use this "BMX" cable:

it has the universal ends, but the fact that they would list it as BMX is curious, and i just wanted to double-check before i purchased it...

Knock yourself out.

The cable in the picture is double ended.

One end has a barrel shaped end that fits BMX and other flat handlebar brake levers. The other end has a mushroom shaped end that fits road bike brake levers. Cut off the end that doesn't work with your bike.

The trick is to cut the cable without making it fray so that it won't slide through the cable housing. One trick is to solder the cable where you intend to cut and cut through the solder with ordinary side cutters.
