Intermittent squeak in rear hub.

Pretty much , when ever I roll my bike I hear a loud squeak in the rear hub. Intermittent when I ride the bike... Its quite loud and a squeaky type noise. Just stopped at my favorite shop and they are closed for a week. I have the impression when bearings go they go all at once and the noise would certainly not come and go. Maybe I just need lube ?.. The hub is a Shimano "Deore. " So I assume they are sealed bearings? The squeak can be loud.. The hub is like 3 years old, probably has about 8000- 10,000 miles on it.. Time for an overhaul...Thanks for anyone's suggestions. Hate to get out on the road and have crushed ball bearings. Its been making this noise for quite some time, but of late it seems to be getting louder.

Could be nothing more than the rubber dust cover on the non drive side sqealing as the hub rotates against it. Try prying it away from the hub and rubbing a dab of grease on the lip.
rule out the smple posibilities first.
And no, they are not sealed bearings. Good old cup and cone.
