Determining size of headset's crown race inside diameter

It's time for me to replace my 1" threaded headset. I'm looking at Sheldon Brown's headset size chart and can't figure out if I need a 26.4mm or 27.0mm crown race inside diameter. How do I know which one will apply to me? I don't have any measuring device that can give me that accurate of a reading.

I have 2 bikes that will be getting new headsets: a 1980 Fuji S12S and a Maruishi (date unknown).

What make and what vintage are the bikes? That information can help narrow down the probability as to which size headset you need.
