Bottom Bracket Adapter Kit Difficulty
I'm new here, so this may have been addressed, but I haven't been able to find anything concerning this specific problem. I am looking to convert my one piece crank (on a 1973 Schwinn Varsity) to a three piece. I have bought the FMF Conversion kit, but it doesn't seem to fit into the bottom bracket because the hanger cups are keeping it from doing so. I want to know if I bought the wrong size (therefore I'd be a ******) or if I have to remove the hanger cups and if so how?

What tool do you suggest using...I tried pretty hard with a flat head screwdriver and a mallet.
