threaded stem stuck in fork! help!

Ive got an 98 cdale r1000 frame, and the stem is stuck. I have carbon forks, so I'm kinda scared to twist it hard. Any tricks for getting them loose?

ok--- no wd here on carbon--- use boiling hot water...... and a couple of tappity taps....
