Building up bike - Lube headset now or after fit and cutting steer tube?
I'm building up a new bike, it'll be a couple of months before I finish it up and get fitted. While I have it on the stand and start bolting everything up, should the headset bearings be lubed, or should I just keep them dry until I get fitted, since I will need to pull the fork to cut the steer tube afterwards anyways?

Might as well leave them "dry" until you are ready to complete the assembly. If the headset is a cartridge bearing type, the cartridges are already greased internally so the external grease only acts as a water and dirt barrier. If it's a retainer/loose ball type, the manufacturer greased the bearings too and you are only going to supliment it.
