single fw on a multi fw hub?

so on my ever growing list of projects was to see if there is a single speed freewheel (bmx style?) i can fit onto my wheel that previously had a 6speed cheap shimano sis freewheel. i blindly went to my lbs a few months ago to buy a bmx freewheel to see if i could just thread it on in place if the 6speed fw i just took off and it wasnt the right size to even start threading on. so now i pose the question: do they make the correct size to just thread on in its place or will i need to get a new hub with different diam thread on hub? i don't wanna go to a fixie with no freewheel capasity. just thought it would be cool for my latest cruiser project to have something other than a coaster brake. allready mounted the sidepulls (yuk) that wil be needed to stop the bike with no coaster. thanks in advance.

normal freewheels are 34mm diameter hole
modern bmx are 30mm

so you can fit the older style bmx freewheel onto the hub threads
will have to use a single speed chain thats 1/8"
not the narriow 3/32" six speed chain
