PROBLEM: when loosening biddon bolt the fixture turns
It is a Scott S30 from 2007 if it matters, i had a time trial on Saturday so i took off my cage and put back in the biddon bolts.
On monday (today) when i tried to loosen those screws the entire fixture of backing that it screws into turns as well - meaning i cant get the bolts out Is this covered by warranty? and is their a tool to fix this? thanks |
take some vice grips and hold the rivnut and try to unscrew the bolt. you really just need to stop the insert from spinning. Once you get bolt out, any shop should have a rivnut tool. Its a simple fix and you should probably check all of your rivnuts

The threaded insert is called a "rivnut" and can be tightened or replaced by your dealer. It's a pretty simple job and should be covered by the warranty on a 2007 bike or the cost will be low if not.
There is a tool to fix it or there are a couple of easy home-fixes but let the dealer handle it on a bike this new. |
