Wheel Specs
Finally mounted up the tire I wanted and took some measurements, but first the details.
36 db spoke, Sun Rynolite rim, 7s Shimano hub, no skewer or cogs.
Continental Avenue 700x40c semislick, wire bead and easy to mount, has tread pattern like GP, 70 psi.
Diameter: 699mm
width: 37mm
Weight: 4.25 lbs
Tire has a almost perfect round crossection.
rim is almost 10mm narrower that tire.
Most of my bikes don't even have clearence for this, but my tourer does.
Anybody want to know the specs of this tire mounted on a CR-18? Looks to me if any narrower rim is gonna put extra stress on the side walls.

Sheldon has a good table relating permissible tyre width to rim width. In practice, one can generally use a SLIGHTLY wider tyre than the table suggests.

FH-1055 hub
Panaracer Tecnova II 25-520iso ie. 24x1 125psi
IRC 24x1 tube, Velox rim tape
Diameter: 570mm
Width: 20mm
Weight 2lbs 11oz
Built this several years ago for the rear of a road bike with front and rear suspension, project on hold for now.
I have plenty of tires in both 1 and 1/8 width but only one rim.
3rd wheel
Sun CR-18
DT Alpine III spokes alloy nipples 3x.
HB-M525 front hub with 160mm disk installed.
Continential Grand Prix 25-559 foldable 120psi.
Schwinn 26x1 tube.
Diameter: 620mm
Width: 24.6mm

This is a wheel for my homemade comfort bike, a Schwinn 594 with a RST fork made for 26" wheels, by useing 2 diffrent wheel sizes the bike is still level.
