Hidden Chainring bolt -- am I missing something

I have a set of Ritchey cranks with a hidden chainring bolt. While installing new rings, I noticed that when I tighten the hidden bolt it squezes the big ring down right up against the middle rings (triple crankset). In order for spacing between rings to be uniform all the way around rings, the fifth bolt, which screws into back of the crank arm, needs to be really loose. Am I missing a spacer of something?

Campagnolo also makes cranks with a "hidden" 5th chainring bolt that screws into the drive-side crank arm. They provide a spacer between the big and middle chainring just to prevent the problem you are having. I assume you dropped yours when you removed the old chainrings but it is essential.

Found the spacer

That's what I thought. The cranks have been in a drawer for while without the rings installed so I must have misplaced the spacer while the cranks were stored away. After I posted, I recalled that the last time I did some work on my wheels, I had come across what I thought was a hub spacer (in my jar of miscellaeous bits and screws) that was just a bit smaller in diameter than all the other hub spacers. I am about 83% certain that it is the missing spacer, so I insrtalled it, worked like a charm. By the way, while my apparent spacer seems to be just a hair thicker than a 3mm hub axel spacer, I think a hub spacer would work in a pinch.

Thanks for the help.
