Puncture-resistant tubes & patching?
I did exactly what I usually do w/ regular inner tubes that I did w/ this one, but the patch didn't seem to hold as air came out of it.
Is it that Puncture-resistant tubes are unpatchable, or I have to _really_ sand this one down?

Did you sand off ALL of the mould-release compound from the surface? The area should be dull black with none of the white powdery stuff. Also how quickly and smoothly you apply the vulcanizing fluid makes a huge difference in the strength of the bond as well.

you want to know why?
we had wooden wheels. that's right, handcrafted, elegant and beautiful wooden wheels.
quit fiddling with the rubber.
get you some WOOD!
