Braze-on FD or something else?

I am ordering a new for 2009 Cinelli stainless steel frame that comes with a 33 mm clamp for the FD. I am assuming the clamp is 33 mm because of proprietary tubing. I would think I should buy a braze-on FD for the clamp but since I have only used clamp-on FDs, I am not certain. So should I buy the braze-on FD or should I get a 35 mm clamp-on and use a shim? If it matters, I am planning on using a Centaur group for the bike.

If the frame comes with the proper adapter clamp, why not use it and a braze-on fd? Why bother with a shim? I have to assume Cinelli would provide an adapter compatible with any Campy braze-on front derailleur.

I have braze-on front derailleurs with adapter clamps on most of my bikes and there is no reason not to go that way.

One more recommendation, wait until you actually have the frame before ordering your build kit. You may be surprised at a few of the dimensions and will want to decide what you need after you have the frame.

Thanks Hill. That's what I thought but I wasn't sure, I have never used an adapter clamp before.
