In search of a Front Derailleur..

Just wondering, I have a vintage '95 Deore XT 8-spd front der. (bottom pull and a clamp-on seat tube style), I was wondering if I have to match the speeds for a FD? Is this one compatible with my 8spd drivetrain:

https://www.performancebike.com/shop/...080&Store=Bike

My rear der. blew up a short while ago and my LBS replaced it with a 9spd LX der and I think it's kind of time to replace my FD cause it is super hard to shift now.

Would the above one work OK? it doesn't mention anything about compatability except for teeth which I'm fine with.

They usually work fine. You may experience some rubbing when in the biggest or smallest cog(IN BACK). You can tweak the width of the cage just a little wider if you have this issue.
