help on chainstays
hey guys..
I've recently bought a carbon chain stay and I'm confused on where to put it.. could you please give me some pointers on where to put it? thanks and merry christmas Dan |
Um... a chain stay is supposed to be a part of your bike that is PERMANENTLY attached. It is kind of equivalent to your thigh or something.
Are you sure you don't have a chain stay PROTECTOR? If yes, then it goes on the chain stay, or the part of your frame directly under the chain in the rear triangle. If no, please take a picture so we can see how this is happening... I know of some bikes that break apart, but I don't recall any with a completely separate chain stay. |
I meant the chainstay protector, sorry..
thanks for the help anyway :) |
Ok then, is it a sticker or a wrap around type thing?
If it is a sticker, it should go from fat to skinny (or taper a little bite, whichever) and that should correspond to the width of the chainstay area right under your chain. Just stick it on. If it a wrap around, it goes in the same place. Chain stay is the area behind your right foot (when you are on the bike) under the chain. |
its a sticker...
and I've just put it on now.. thanks for all your help. |
