Don't ride on this, right?

Does this rim go in the dump or fit for keep cranking on?

GP4, rear wheel, drive side.

Ouch. I wouldn't. Usually wheel collapse happens at the worst times like going downhill, or in the middle of an intersection...

Find out the spoke brand and send them the pic... you never know... haha...

You are lucky enough to get a warning. I wasn't. Don't take that for granted.

Sheebus, now I know what it would look like if Salvador Dali made a bike!

to the OP: just do what everybody else seems to do with broken and dangerous equipment - sell it on Craigslist! (kidding, kidding).

If you are in the habit of repairing inner tubes, you can use the rim as a
post repair tester+tire stretcher by mounting the repaired tube in a tire
on the rim. If it holds air for a time you add the tube to your good repaired
pile. Not much other use for the rim.

I did a sommersault and landed on my butt. Very minor road rash and a sore shoulder, and Velocity rebuilt the wheel for me.

As the husband of an artist who recently took me to a Dali exhibit, that was hilarious.

As opposed to just inflating the tube and seeing if it holds air?

I keep a stock of parts like that for when I am finally ready to build up my mother-in-laws' bike. After all the fun we have had together this festive holiday season, I might just take her out riding with me tomorrow afternoon. Sure wish I had those rims for her though.

I used to have a mother-in-law like that - one Christmas I bought her a new chair as a present, do you know the ungrateful so-and-so wouldn't even plug it in.
