What is that sound
HI,
my new used bike has a little creak sound it makes when I push hard on the pedal's I don't think its the cleats or the pedals it almost sound like the Bottom bracket ( not sure of the correct name the thing the pedals are attached to.) Its very subtle when I mash on the pedals if I am easy on them or coast it goes away . Hope its not bad.....:innocent: Doug |
Possibly is the bottom bracket, but there's plenty of other possibles as well.
Sheldon did a good page on that. http://www.sheldonbrown.com/creaks.html |
Wow Excellent link
HI,
Thanks for the link to that noise trouble shooting I reviewed most of it, and I like how he mentioned don't make more problems trying to fix another problem, example I am very new to bike mech-101, and I pulled the wheels for tire replacement at the LBS cause I didn't care for the mushy mich slick feel the day before the ride . And I didn't remember a brake allignment issue prior to the wheel being pulled DUH, so I may have created the problem, so I released the rear wheel clamp mashed the brakes pretty hard, and the re-tightned the hub with pressure on the brakes, and guess what perfect allignment. Jeeze that was to easy, I bet this will fix the noise problem, it was probably ever so slight out of allignment and I didn't see the problem :notamused:.. doug |
