Tektro brake nut issues...

I've just acquired a new Tektro R530 rear brake, but I'm encountering some problems as far as mounting it. My bike is an '86 Miyata 110, and the original Shimano brake on it used nut type mounting, but this newer Tektro uses a recessed nut. The way I figure it, I could swap out the nut for a longer one like those on the front brake, but I don't have any extras of those. Is there any way to acquire one of these without buying the entire brake? Any and all (useful) ideas would be most appreciated!

You can get longer recessed nuts from most bike shops.
Many on-line retailers have them too, any QBP dealer, LooseScrews, others.
Another solution is to drill out the brake bridge.

Do you mean swap out the "nut" on the rear brake for a longer one or swap out the "bolt"? You need a longer mounting bolt (a second front brake will provide that) or you need to ream out the hole in the front (ONLY the front) of the rear brake bridge to 8 mm/5/16".

Oh, yeah, I did mean to say "bolt." I already checked a couple local shops and they couldn't do anything. I've thought about reaming out the hole, but I want that to be my last option.

I wound up just widening the rear hole using a dremel. Worked perfectly for me.
