Issues servicing SRAM i-light generator hub?

I recently built up a beautiful new touring wheel (36 holes, velocity dyad) around a brand new SRAM i-light generator hub. Biked to school yesterday. The good news is that the generator worked well, noticably charging up my batteries. The bad news is that the hub squeaks loudly once per revolution. I didn't notice this before, but it certainly happens now, even with no load on the bike.

So, I presume I could "service the hub", i.e. open the hub, squirt oil or grease around, and close. Any particular issues I should be aware of with squeaks, or with SRAMs, or with generator hubs?

Thanks,
pete

Sorry I can't be of any more help than this, but...

...here's the tech manual:

The iLight hub info begins on page 98.

Best,

And reading this tech manual, I see:

"Do not disassemble the internal hub mechanism. "

and

"Do not apply any lubricant to the inside
of the hub, otherwise the grease will
come out and it may cause problems
with conductivity. "

Without dissasembling, I see no way of fixing the squeak. My only recourse appears to be taking the wheel back apart and sending the hub back!

Any ideas? Any at all?

Looking at the parts list drawing I would suspect that the only possibility is playing with the inner nut shown on the drawing, on the electrical connector side. Mark it's current position in relation to the axle and try loosening/tightening very slightly. Is there any end play that you can notice of the hub on the axle or any side play at the rim of the wheel?

Otherwise I would be on the phone to SRAM technical support Monday seeking their advice.

I'd second getting in touch with SRAM to start.
