raised sides of chainring teeth normal?

If I run my finger along the sides of the teeth of my chainring, I can feel small raised, sharp edges. It's almost like the chain has pressed the teeth and caused the edges to flare out a little bit. Is this normal? It's an IRO crankset on a fixie, so it takes more torque than a road chainring usually would.

Does this eventually happen with all chainrings? Or maybe only lower-end ones?
