i am looking to build a bike myself and i am a newbie at this i just want to make sure i have all the parts i need...here is my list. it going to be a 1x9 or 1x8 so i wont need a FD.

MTB or Road build? Headset-Stem spacers and top cap if headset is threadless. Maybe they come with a new Fork.

Top caps come with the headset....which reminds me if an aluminum steerer you might need a star fangled nut (some forks come with one, though), if a carbon steerer you might want a compression plug. Might need to provide your own qr skewers, too.

You forgot rim strips.
I love building bikes, but I have to warn you, unless you have a good portion of the parts on hand already, it's more costly than buying a bike. Why are you doing this?
Also, does a seat clamp come with the bolt these days? If not, add that to your list.
Are you building the wheels, too? Now, that's the fun part!

inline cable adjuster or DT cable stops if your frame requires those.
