any advice on repacking Campy Zonda hubs?
I've had my Campy Zondas for about a year and a half. Haven't needed to touch them but it's time for a little regreasing of the hubs. I've got the campy pdf and it looks straight forward enough, but I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips or advice. I think I can do my final adjustment on them with the wheels on the bike, no?

They appear to overhaul exactly the same way as the Chorus hubs on my bike and the job is pretty straightforward. Note that Campy charges an arm-and-a-leg for their bearings and bearing retainers so be careful not to loose or damage them. You could, of course, replace the balls with new generic Grade 25 ones but that would violate the sanctity of the Campy mystique.

Yes, you can adjust the bearing with the wheel installed on the bike and that is one of the advantages of Campy's hubs. Set the lock ring (part D in the diagram) up loose and install the wheel and clamp the qr skewer down normally. Then tighten the lock ring until the play at the rim just disappears and tighten the 2.5 mm set screw. Spin the wheel and recheck for play and refine the adjustment as needed. It's really very easy.

ok so i got around to attempting this this morning. got the locknut off, loosened and removed the lockring, then the manual says remove ring (part G)-hut here's where i'm stuck - how do i get it off? i tried using a little nail file to pry it off but it won't budge and i don't want to gouge up the dust seal behind it. anyone have any experience with this?

Just repacked mine last weekend.
I use a pick (easier with 90 deg pick), put the point into the seam and gently apply sideways pressure with the pick. Get the angle right and it will pop out. Does not take much force. Also make sure you are pushing on the other end of the axle.
