Help with RockShox Judy XC

I was 'gifted' a Trek Y-22 today. The front forks are shot. It is from 1996. I want to find out the thread size to replace the front forks. Does anyone know offhand what size they are so I don't have to take it all apart.

You don't have to take it apart. Measure the diameter of the stem and you will have your answer

It's behind the couch.

If your stem is 7/8" dia (22.2mm) then you've got a 1" headset
If your stem is 1" dia (25.4mm) then you've got a 1 1/8" headset.

It's probably a 1 1/8, but measure to be sure.
