Cross Laced 24" Wheelbuild
I'm building a pair of 24" wheels today. The rims are Alienation Runaways which are designed to have the spokes cross laced = going from the left side of the hub to the right side of the rim, and right to left... The spokes have an extra 'cross' where they pass eachother laterally.
I'm wondering what kind of issues I'll run into with getting the initial tension up. I'm used to bringing the tension up on one side and then increasing the other side to dish the wheel evenly, but this wont work for these rims. Any suggestions or experience?

Don't think of the "side" at the rim when building these wheels. Think only of the hub as you tension the spokes and it works the usual way. The cross at the rim is only to give a good strong angle with a lot a material at the rim, don't think of the "right" rim spoke going to the left side of the hub as the right side. Think of it as the left side because it is pulling from the left hub side. Did that all make sense?

OK. I finished the first wheel - the cross lacing proved to be almost no difference when I actually started twistin them nips. Happy that I got that done I put on some rim tape and put the tire and t00b on and found that this dang tire I picked wont even fit on the rim. Its got a bit of an overhang that no matter what I do just wont go away. Its like Ive got a 24 3/8" or some bananapoop like that
