Trouble with my cyclocomputer
Hi, I bought a sigma bc 1600 cyclocomputer and it seems to work properly. The only problem is that you are supposed to set a five digit number for the "total distance" setting, and I can't figure out what this number is for. in the manual, it shows it set to 10038, and 10037: http://www.sigmasport.de/en/allgemei...el_BC_1600.pdf (pg19) If anybody knows what this number is for, that would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks |
Perhaps it's your known total mileage on the bike before the computer install.
(and try the electronics forum) |
After reading the manual for a product I don't own and scratching my head I googled for it, apparently you can manually enter your total distance (for when you change computers, batteries, etc.). Found it in an mtbr review. Gotta love international manual translations...

Net distance. Put a zero.

I have the same computer and that tripped me up at first to but as people have commented before me, that is the "odometer" for your bike. If it is a new bike set it to 0, if it is a used bike and you know the mileage this is where it belongs so you can track the number of miles you've put on the bike from that point forward.
I actually have the BC 1400 and man does that thing drain batteries, 6 months is all I got out of the batteries in my computer. |
Yeah, think odometer. I have one on my commuter - it's a great computer, except that it doesn't like to work below about 35F. Then again, that might not be a big issue for you.
