Campy changed thread pattern on rear derailleur barrel adjusters?
I have Campy Record 1996 (8-speed) gruppo on one of my bikes, and the barrel adjuster for the rear derailleur broke. My lbs gave me a new one, that is definitely made by Campy, and looks just like my broken one, but the thread pattern seems to have changed since then.
The threads on my broken one are larger and deeper threads, very similar to Shimano threads, and the newer Campy adjuster has much finer threads. I was told by one of the mechanics that although the look is closer to the Shimano threads, they are deeper (or vice versa) and a Shimano barrel adjuster won't be compatible, as it will only turn a couple rotations before it stops, due to the difference in thread depth.
Does anyone know where I can get a Campy barrel adjuster that will work with my '96 Record?
