Handle Bar ends... a question

http://www.benscycle.net/index.php?m...oducts_id=6266

"Fits 22.2 Bars"

Now when it says fits 22.2 bars that is referring to the opening at the end of my handlebars, right? Duh?

I moved not too long ago and recently discovered I am without a metric ruler (!) and haven't yet gone out of my way to pick one up, though I plan to very soon. I don't really see any other sizes for handlebar ends offered here which leaves me under the impression that these would fit just fine with plain old nitto drops. Am I correct? I've never had to purchase handlebar ends until now...

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

I don't think those are for drop bars. More likely the ends of a flat bar, to help hold the grips on. You want plugs (my faves are Velox).

drop bars usually have an OD of 24mm.
nitto drop bars for sure have 24mm OD at the ends.

Those are simply covers to keep the ends of the bars from poking a hole in your leg if you fall. You can use wine corks, standard end plugs, and I'm sure that with a little ingenuity you could use beer caps. Bar end plugs would work just fine. Go to a local shop and ask for a couple of plugs, I'm sure you can get them for nothing.

No need for a metric ruler: 22.2mm is 7/8 inch.

But you can't use champagne corks, or beer corks without a lot of work. I spent about 10 minutes trying to wrestle the cork from my Chimay into my handlebar, and it just didn't want to go in.
