Where to buy cheap chain for a department store bike

I am fixing a mountain bike for a friend and it is lacking a chain. I would normally just order a chain from performance bike or something like that, but the total price would end up being more than the bike is worth, i.e. $15+ with shipping. Where would be the best place to order from for something like this? It is a Shimano 6 speed with a triple, if it makes any difference.

Walmart and such places do sell cheapo chains. The main problem people seem to have with them is that they are too short sometimes. I might suggest going to the closest bike store and picking up the cheapest chain they have. Might be as little as $10-12.

Wal-mart has them for like $8 or so. You could buy two if it's too short and still come out ahead

I got an SRAM PC850 chain off ebay for $15 shipped only a week ago, if you go with lower quality or lower speeds you can probably get to around $10, and you're actually getting a decent chain.
