Shimano parts help

I'm looking for the rubber boots on the end of barcon shifters. Seems Shimano doesn't catalog them or do they? Here's the schematic: http://techdocs.shimano.com/media/te...9830628723.pdf

Does anyone know where I can get them?

Try calling Shimano America here:

Shimano American Corp.
1 Holland
Irvine, CA 92618
949) 951-5003

They may send you some free or at least tell you if and where they are available.

Second possibility is to get a can of the the liquid plastic "Dip and Grip" or "Plasti Dip" used to plastic coat tool handles. Any home center has it and it will make a good durable coating on the levers in your choice of colors.

I pulled a pair of Sun Tour lever covers from an old set of stem shifters, trimmed them to fit, and installed them over the worn Shimano covers.

That's an idea. Problem is these don't have any cover on them at all. Do the old MTB thumbie levers use the same rubber. I have a set of beat levers that actually have nice rubber.
