DIY - computer stem mount?

Has anyone re-mounted their Cateye from the bars to the stem somehow? Y'know without purchasing a kit and all.

There is a little plastic knob available that zip-ties to the extensions of Tri-bars to allow mounting a cyclometer on them. I expect it could be mounted on the stem the same way.

You could also use the standard handlebar clamp on the stem and read the cyclometer sideways.
