Off center presta valve?

My new Fuji Roubaix RC seems to have its rear presta valve off center on the rear wheel. Is this normal? The front seems centered on the wheel. Perhaps it was misdrilled? Is this something that is likely to cause problems?

Thanks!

the tube move while it was under pressure, and or braking.to fix is to remove the air , move the tire on the rim to re seat the valve is it seating up right again, and add air up to pressure as mark on the tire.

it's not a big problem for the valve to be tilted because of poor installation.

usually you will have to remove one side of the tyre bead to even get the tube to budge when it is deflated on narrow tyres, because the tyres fit rather tight and it's impossible to move the tyre while it is still on the rim.

Examine it more carefully.

My bet is that the valve stem is dead center and the spoke bed is offset to the non-drive side. That's a common design to minimize the dishing of the rear wheel for more even spoke tension and better strength.

I've had tubes that the valve-stems were offset by mistake. Instead of the valve pointing straight-up 12:00, it would be between 1:00 and 2:00. But they worked alright.

I have a bike with a wheel like that. It is an mtb, designed for more strength.

I think we need a more clear description, (or possibly a photo)

Is the valve stem offset laterally? Is it not in the center of the rim, rather displaced either left or right (Drive/Nondrive)?

Or is the valve stem offset fore/aft, with the top of the valve not pointing towards the center of the wheel.

Posts 2.3. and 5. assume the latter, 4. and 6. the former

Yabut offset rim is not standard issue on Fuji Roubaix RC. At least it was not on '08 models. '09 may be different.

The specs on the bike in question spec the Shimano RS-10 wheel set, which though not listed on the Shimano NA site, should be an offset rim I think, based on the specs for the RS-20 wheel set which is listed.

I took a closer look.

- The valve itself is perpendicular to the ground, it looks as if the tube is installed correctly.
- The spokes on this wheel alternate from the centerline of the wheel, ie a few millimeters towards the drivers side, then a few millimeters off center towards the non-drive side.
- The valve hole seems to be in line with the alternating spokes, ie off center of the rim by a few millimeters.
