Hub hair line crack on Topolinos

I have a set of Topolinos Revelation C19. The rear wheel has a hair line crack on the drive side of the hub. The crack is located along the plastic shell and it stops before the area where the spokes are attached. Topolino does not produce the hub any longer. Is it dangerous to ride that wheel. I am planning on replacing the wheel set with something else but I am short of $$$ right now.

Thanks

anytime you have a crank on a wheel it's dangerous to ride .
i would call topolino and ask for a replacement tot he latest hub since they arent making that older hub that you have ..
good luck

Thanks Soderbiker. I called Topolino and the best they could do was to give a "good" deal on a new-model wheel.

Call Ed @ Topolino and tell him you need the drive side half-shell hub. They have them. Are you able to repair the wheel yourself? Since you'll need to seperate the hub, they are two full pieces, the wheel will need to be completely disassembled. If you aren't skilled at trueing this is not the time to learn. I have the schematics for both the front and the rear along with the torque information. Let me know how you make out.

I ride C-19's and love them. I have heard of problems with the hub cracking but at the bearing not the outside shell. Mine have been flawless, thankfully.

Good luck...

Thanks Bootleger, The crack goes from the mid part of the hub towards the right side and stops just before the place where the spokes are attached together. Topolino told me that they do not make that hub any longer and that they are out of stock. The best they could do was give a discount on a new wheel. I love the smooth ride these wheels provide.
