Major maintenance

How often should major maintenance items be performed? I'm not talking minor stuff like oiling the chain or adjusting brakes, but major stuff like greasing the wheel bearings, bottom bracket maintenance/repair, or wheel truing?

When they need it. Nobody can give you a timeframe or a mileage estimate. I put about 250 miles on my bike a week. When stuff wears our you replace it, most all bearing are sealed anyway. BBs last a very long time, same with wheel bearings, a properly tensioned wheel should not go out of true due to riding.

(maybe I should clarify if all I'm going to get back is generic responses I'm already aware of)

well is this for all bikes no matter how much they are ridden or just bikes used in an "average" sense? I redid bearings on my rear wheel, and the grease is already mostly gone (it was kind of a liquid coating when I found it), it's riding hard, etc after about 2 or 3 months, which is why I'm asking this. I had a problem with axles bending on this wheel, too, but I found the replacement axle in it (installed 4 or 5 months ago, I guess?) basically straight.

Or is it possible that the wheel hub itself could be bent?
