Komet Super hub question

Hello, ratio kings! Christmas came early this year as a local bike shop gave me a vintage wheel with a Komet Super single speed coaster brake hub. Tore down, cleaned, and relubed the hub. It's in remarkably good shape.
I'd like to build up a beater bike with it, for use mainly around campus. The hub has a 20 tooth sprocket on it. What chainring up front would give me a good ratio - low enough for the occasional hill but high enough to maintain a decent cruise without overspinning?

That depends a lot on your campus and your strength!!!

Unless that Komet is pretty unusual you can swap rear sprockets pretty easily. The format I always see on c/b is a three splined sprocket held on by a split ring.

I would try a 36 or 38 up front assuming you'll be sharing campus sidewalks with pedestrians.

Yeah, it's the standard 3-tang style of rear cog. Guess one could play around with rear cogs and front rings till they found one that works well (trial and error method).
I used to have a Torpedo 3-speed hub with an 21 tooth cog on it and a 52 chainring. Frame was too tall for me, and 27 inch wheels made it taller still. It was a bit of a skyscraper! It was my first build, I didn't know much about gearing, and 52 was what I had.
It did NOT like hills, and it was a slow starter. But once I got a head of steam going, NOBODY could touch me! I wish I still had that old thing now.

But this will probably be a sell bike, so I was looking for a compromise that would help it sell. 36 or 38 it is - thanks!

The usual cruiser ratio is 44/18. My suggestion would favor mild hills and spinning.
