XT derailleurs with grip shift?
Will these work? They are just cheap-o sram grip shift off my wal mart bike, but no longer on there. They are what came stock on my specialized, just those cracked so I switched these onto it. Anyways, will they work with XT front/rear derialleurs?

Maybe, Maybe not. SRAM makes two different gripshifts, one that's pure SRAM and one that's Shimano compatible.
Chances are that iif the bike you're pulling them from has a SRAM rear derailer then no it wont. Front doesn't care, it'll work.

Need more info than what you gave...model #s/model name/year/etc....some of it will mix and match but most, unfortunately, will not.

Model? Says grip shift max on it - and it is shimano compatible as it currently runs a deore/alivio combonation. Year? Er... old.. 2001? 2002? Something like that.

Prolly work then. Can't figure out why someone would use junk low end shifters with XT components, but to each their own.

To the OP, no sweat. If they shifted Shimano derailleurs before, they still will, given that they're made for the same number of gears.

it's actually MRX, not max but the font is weird. Either way, as mentioned not the best shifters but they'll work with your XT stuff. Definitely worth the money to upgrade to better shifters when you have the cash, especially since you've got nice derailleurs on there already.

I've got a bike with MRX Comps, and one with the "better" Attack grip shifters, and haven't noticed a difference in the shifting performance between the two. My hope is that the Attacks will last longer (they do look better).
