CanI safely add link to KMC 10-speed chain?

Title pretty much says it all. I screwed up and broke it too short. Do I need to chuck (or sell) it? Will the Shimano replacement pins work on a KMC 10 speed chain?

I wouldn't try that. A pair of 10 speed quick links is the way to go, assuming you kept the length of chain you took off.

Interesting, thanks. I thought about another quick link but obviously just one wouldn't work. Two may work though. It's not overdoing it with a total of 3 quick links on a single chain? These would be the KMC "Missing Links". I was about to order a pack of six of these anyway. They're pretty cheap.

Well, any chain is only as strong as it's weakest link, so even if quick links were not as strong as permanent links, and I have no evidence that is true, adding more quick links will not comprimise the strength of the chain overall.
I have long chains on my recumbent with multiple quick links. No problemo.
